Both Shawnette and Norman are Prepare/Enrich trained Facilitators with a desire to see marriages strong. They often serve as mentors for couples encouraging and fostering positive discussion on marital restoration and enrichment.
Please make us aware of your desire for both of us to be a part of your couples' sessions upon scheduling your first session.
As part of our assessment tools, we use the Prepare/Enrich Assessments to identify couple strengths and growth areas.
Being married for more than 22 years, our union has not gone without challenges. We understand that marriages will go through seasons and phases. We hope to support you in your efforts to restore and overcome hurdles to achieving a satisfying union.
The idea is to hang on to each other in spite of the pain, loss, misunderstanding, and crisis and what you will find is that a three stranded chord is not easily broken. We want to help you to figure out what or who you have included as your third strand.

Our Focus
Couples Counseling: With a passion to see marriages thriving, our mission is simple; to enhance and support the working together of couples in order to restore balance and strength to the marital relationship.
Premarital Counseling Facilitators: Our role as Prepare Enrich facilitators is to highlight the unique aspects of a couple’s relationship and to help foster honest dialogue as to expectations, roles, financial stability, conflict resolution, personality differences, sexual expectations, etc. before making the commitment to become life partners. Most couples focus on wedding ceremonies. We focus on building the marriage not the wedding! We believe that healthy marriages survive because of careful preparation as a result of laying a strong foundation before saying “I Do……!” These sessions are usually 6-8 weeks long, one session per week.
Grief and Loss: Knowing what to do after a traumatic event such as infant loss, adult loss, physical loss etc. can be devastating and often times we need to learn new tools to use in helping us to regain our footing. There are no easy steps to coping with loss and grief. We try to encourage you to allow yourself to grieve. We give you a safe place to express yourself by addressing the reality of the loss and by focusing on the strengths you possess to help you to process your loss. Using tools that are practical and self -determined, we encourage you to begin the healing process and to stay on a path to wellness and wholeness.
Female Adolescent Issues: During a time when peers seem to heavily mold and define a young person’s life, teen age girls often find it a challenge to cope with outside pressures. Depression in teens can manifest itself in the form of cutting, lack of sleep, procrastination, poor eating habits, little social interaction, outbursts of anger, etc. We try to offer practical solutions to
dealing with poor body image, low self-esteem, and crisis.
Women In Crisis: We offer individual therapy and support groups for women facing everyday challenges.
